Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation and meal service for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure dining areas, kitchens, and service stations are clean, hygienic, and well-maintained.
  • Serve meals and refreshments in accordance with dietary requirements and clinic procedures.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock according to food safety standards.
  • Support housekeeping and cleaning activities as required.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, infection control, and hygiene protocols.
  • Assist with waste management and disposal procedures.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably required by management.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and infection control practices.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual duties.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, hospitality, catering, or cleaning environment will be advantageous.
