Economist - Bamako, Mali

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is seeking a qualified and experienced Economist to join its team in Bamako, Mali. The Economist will be responsible for providing technical support to the Country Programme and the Regional Office for West and Central Africa. The Economist will work closely with the Country Programme team to develop and implement the Country Programme, and will provide technical support to the Regional Office on economic analysis and policy advice. The Economist will also contribute to the development of the Regional Office's strategic plan and will provide technical support to the Regional Office's programme teams. The Economist will have a strong background in economics and will have experience working in a development context. The Economist will be fluent in English and French, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Economist will be based in Bamako, Mali, and will be required to travel frequently to other countries in the region.
